Erik is a super nice professor. He has the stereotypical "old man" presence in a cute way. The class itself is fairly interesting and the lectures highlight the important information from the book. All test answers come straight from the lecture slides! Beware the multiple choice graph/stat questions as those are most difficult.Rate My Professors ↗
I love this professor. He is so knowledgeable about sociology and really opened my mind up. It is a super chill course and the material is something you want to learn. He is very respectful of other people's views and encourages debating/ challenging his views. If you have opportunity to take this class dont' hesitate it is awesome!Rate My Professors ↗

Erik wrote the text book the class uses. There is a lot of overlap between lectures and the textbook; you really don't have to go to lecture. Your entire grade is pretty much based off of three exams, which are fairly straight-forward. I would highly recommend taking this class for an easy B. The class itself isn't too hard. Lectures posted online so you don't have to go to class. Majority essay questions on tests, with the addition of 5-10 multiple choice that are based on memorizing tons of exact statistics, for sure the hardest part. Lectures are dry. His lectures are clear and he takes the time to explain everything well. However, he is extremely one-sided in his political viewpoints, and makes them a part of the class. Tests required students to describe very specific terms, and students would be lose points if they did not almost exactly write the definition from the book.Rate My Professors ↗
