Very sweet and nice old man, but I didn't learn a single thing from this class. Lectures were very rarely connected to the class, as a majority of the time he went on unrelated tangents about either airplanes or Oppenheimer (or some other unrelated topic). I respect him as a professor, but would not recommend this class.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Bolland is a kind individual who has so much experience in the policy field, but his lectures are very disconnected to the class. The reading materials are not discussed. He often goes on tangents about airplanes. All 5 assignments are worth a 20-30% of your grade and are not explained. I respect him, but I didn't learn anything.Rate My Professors ↗

TRUST THIS REVIEW! Bolland spends at least half of class on personal stories which have no relevance.15 minute story about his wife sculpture finished with "That's why I think Women can have careers in art these days." Class content is all over the place, nothing on canvas, and no rubric for most assignments each weighted at 20-30% of grade.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Bolland, while nice, should finally retire. Lectures were erratic, slow, and didn't discuss the content of the readings (he went on a 20-minute lecture on Oppenheimer on three separate occasions, same content). Rubrics are incredibly vague; he once gave me two different grades on the same assignment. Avoid him to stay awake in class.Rate My Professors ↗
