Professor Kuby is very knowledge but is a great lectuer. Definetly a fair amount of reading and attendance is required, but the lectures are extremely engaging and she's super passionate!

Definitely a class you can't skip. Lecture slides are posted, but they are missing key details needed for exams. Exam grades are based on an essay question you are given in advance and an analysis of primary sources assigned throughout the semester. Professor Kuby is clearly very passionate about the subject, and overall her lectures are engaging.

The class was manageable overall. Lectures covered a lot of material and focused heavily on discussion of primary sources. Exams were based on those sources and required careful preparation. Other assignments were clearly explained and reasonable in scope.

Attendance is mandatory, but I don't know why because the lectures are so disorganized and random that they don't help on the tests at all. You have to read a lot of primary sources, and the tests are all based on said readings, so lecture content is more of a “I'm making you show up because otherwise no one would.” She NEVER answers emails.
