The topic of my class was prejudice and prejudice reduction, which is what her research is focused on. She was fine overall, but wouldn't input grades or provide feedback midway through the semester. She was late to her own deadlines when she promised grades by. It felt hypocritical given her hard late policy. Wouldn't recommend for a 601 course.Rate My Professors ↗
Lectures are kind of boring. She expects everyone to participate but wont cold call you. lots of reading for each class with discussion posts for each reading. Emily is very nice, helpful, and accessible outside of class. Assignments are clearly explained. No final, no midterm. 1 presentation, 1 large research paper as a final.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Dix was super nice but her lectures were so dry it was hard to pay attention. Tests are suppperrrrr detailed about the smallest details in the book or lecture. Wasn't terrible, but there are definitely better psych classes out there.Rate My Professors ↗
This class has been one of my favorite classes at UW-Madison. The lecture is easy to follow and goes over the same studies as the textbook. The exams were fair. Really cannot tell why this professor has such a low rating, as this is one of the few classes I've actually learned something in. Contrary to others, I found Emily to be a great instructor. She is very clear and communicates the material well. You can tell that she has a great understanding of the subject and very approachable inside and outside of class.
