Goes above and beyond and willing to do anything to help you. He's too nice that sometimes it's cringeworthy because he's so scared of offending anyone. Tests very similar to practice tests(40% of grade). Hw is fine but can take long. High bar for A because everyone scores well and tests are open note. Dmitry is such a genuine and caring guy, actually one of my favorite profs I've ever had. The material is tough but he does a great job of giving examples and the homework really nails in the concepts. He gives you a practice exam before the exam and runs through the entire thing with a video, which is just like the actual exam. Love this prof!!Rate My Professors ↗
Yes, this class is hard, but you can learn tons of useful practical things from it. Be prepared for the heavy homework, and if you don't keep up with the materials, you can get totally lost, so come prepared.Rate My Professors ↗
I second that the other reviews are too harsh, definitely nowhere near the worst b school prof. He couldn't explain tough concepts well, expected too much prior knowledge, if you can get past confusing parts you can get a lot out of the class. Some of the comments here are too rough. Dmitry is one of the most caring professors I ever had at UW-Madison. He gives his students everything.
