Dr. Kiefer is an engaging lecturer. When I found out I had to learn ethnobotany, I wanted to die, but he found ways to make it interesting. Hiking through the rainforest with him helped. I had a lot of personal conversations with him about life, the universe, and medical school, and he really helped me think through important parts of my life.
