Professor Gillis is one of the best professors I have had in undergrad. You can tell he is passionate about the topics we talk about, and makes class very interesting. The class had a few required books but all of them were relevant to the class and made discussion more interesting.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Gillis was easily my favorite professor in undergrad. He's extremely passionate about the lecture topics and it shows. The lectures are well organized and the exams are pretty easy if you pay attention in lecture and do the readings (which are interesting and easy). PROFESSOR GILLIS IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THIS UNIVERSITY. I have never had a professor I genuinely loved here. He is BRILLIANT and makes class so interesting. This class was 2 hours long and not once did I get bored. That absolutely never happens to me in a class. His teaching style is perfect and he cares about his students. This is honestly one of the best classes I've taken. Colin is really chill. A huge portion of this class was graded for a community based volunteer component. No tests on the reading. There were weekly journal entries and two essays. The grading wasn't harsh at all. Participation was important, but not hard to get. Easy and fun A.Rate My Professors ↗
The only problem I had with this class was that he didn't post grades throughout the semester but instead just gave a final grade.
