CLAUDIA CARD

She is very passionate about what she does, but she can come off a bit unclear at times. TA is what makes or breaks it. Reading is worthless (aside from the simon wiesenthal case study at the beginning). Just read lecture agendas and go to section for success.

Claudia is a very confusing professor and teaches a very confusing class. I have never dreaded a lecture more in my life. This class is very confusing and Claudia is sometimes hard to hear and understand in general. The readings are awful and are not really necessary. Rely on her agendas to get you through which she sends out in email before class

Very hard to understand and follow! Nice lady very intelligent, willing to answer questions and stop to explain things but lectures were not engaging at all. As a business student I hated this class, attendance taken every class. TA was very helpful and pretty much got me thru the class. Exams not too difficult, not hard to get a B.

Very bad professor. I took this class and didn't learn much then read philosophy textbooks later and learned a great deal about what we were talking about that she didn't mention. This includes utilitarianism and Epicurus and Nietzsche. I learned more from my TA, take this class with someone else. Highly recommend the class though.

Slowly realized that doing the readings was useless. She writes all the lecture notes down before class, so you spend the first 15-20 minutes scribbling them down with no idea what's really going on, and feel the same way as lecture progresses. Discussions prior to the exams summed up the important things to know, Wikipedia helps with the rest..meh

Wise, friendly, and fascinating. I liked how she graded essays. If your argument has holes, she'll point them out. She made me think more critically about the ideas from the reading. Consequently, I learned not just about ethics, but also about arguing and writing in general. We had a lot of fascinating discussions. Take this class.
