His slides are only pictures, but his lectures are organized and executed very well. I wish I could have him as a history professor again. He's definitely one of my favorite professors here.

I took an intro course with Cohen out of interest and struggled to understand the rambling and cerebral lectures. Even doing all the excessive readings and attending every discussion wasn't enough to help me keep up. If I had a religious background maybe it would've been easier to make the connections, but it was extremely challenging for an intro.

Professor Cohen is a overall excellent professor. Although his papers were graded harshly, you could rewrite two of three, thus making it your own fault if you receive a bad grade. His lectures were very interesting, and well put together. He really knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

I had a lot of interest in history before I took this class. Though the professor is nice and explains things thoroughly, it is impossible to get a good grade, almost all of my essays (which is 80% of the grade) received a BC.
