No exams! Participation in both section and lecture is mandatory but worth your time if you don't know qual and quant methods. Graded on two papers, two presentations, and attendance. Weekly quizzes can boost your grade a bit tho! Professor was really sweet and if you are a soc major, I would recommend going and talking with him about anything!

I realized about half way through the semester that this class has no exams! Everyone attends lecture anyway (there are small attendance checks). Chaeyoon is engaging and funny (although he sometimes goes off on tangents). The projects are cool, but don't procrastinate on them. Chill class. You get to research whatever you want.

Prof. Lim's lectures were always entertaining. The bulk of the class takes place in discussion though. Two big group projects, weekly readings and quizzes, and a couple other assignments throughout. No exams! Overall, I would definitely recommend this class, I've learned a lot and it'll be useful information regardless of what you choose to pursue.

Prof Lim is an engaging lecturer! He clearly wants his students to succeed and is very approachable if you ever need extra assistance. There were lots of readings but they all correlated directly into what we were doing for the 2 projects throughout the semester. You learn a lot of practical information about sociological research. Would recommend!

Probably the best professor I've had so far at UW. Chaeyoon made a seemingly boring class into something that had pretty interesting lectures. The class is based on 2 research papers as well as weekly readings and weekly quizzes, but he gives the answers to the quizzes during lecture. You can tell that he definitely wants all of us to succeed!!

Prof Lim is one of my favorite professors so far at UW. He is very bubbly and energetic, and works to make lecture enjoyable. There are no tests in his class, just 2 research projects where you are able to research ANYTHING (some students did substance use, sex, etc) , as well as weekly lecture quizzes that he give the answers to in class.
