About this rating

Raw average: 4.62/5 from 8 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Didn't take folk100 just want to say this guys is the GOAT. Seriously he's so chill, very knowledgeable about sustainability and Sámi culture and understanding, super accessible outside of class and overall just a fun dude. Whatever class you take with him, you'll have a good time.

Professor Cederstrom's awesome. His lectures were super interesting and filled with memes. The class enabled me to relate folklore to my daily life + have a better understanding of the communities I am a part of. There were a few papers and a final project due, but it's definitely manageable + enjoyable. Would 100% take it with him again :D

Marcus tries to make his lectures interesting with humor but they didn't help me much. The lectures aren't mandatory but there are pop questions that are either graded or for extra credit. The discussions are mandatory. This class has lots of papers but are very easy to get full credit. Definitely recommend if you want an easy comm b class.

Prof. Cederstrom really cares about your mental health and allows for paper extensions. The content is super easy and you only really need to attend lecture a majority of the time, the main content is the first few weeks then everything is building upon it. 5 main papers/projects that aren't too hard, but don't wait to finish them. Easy graders.

I took this class to fulfill two gen ed requirements. There are about 5 papers that you write throughout the semester, but he was the only professor I have had that has even mentioned the importance of mental health, so if you ever needed an extension for whatever reason, he allowed it. Passionate about what he is teaching.
