Her lectures are very clear and have a good variety of proofs and worked examples. I also really recommend going to her office hours, I didn't start going until halfway through the semester and they really helped. Unlike other courses, there is an emphasis on proofs. Dr. Wen gave a great introduction to the subject. She prepares meticulously for every class and puts a lot of effort into her teaching. I can tell that she prepares a lot for this class. She gave students worksheets in class, notes on Canvas every week. Difficulty of assignments is also acceptable, with 70% easy proofs and 30% hard proofs but can find hints in the textbook. But if you have a good mathematical foundation, her class may be a little easy and boring.Rate My Professors ↗
Dr. Wen is the best professor I've ever had. She is so incredibly thoughtful with her teaching. She is so prepared for lectures and could not be more clear with concepts. This professor is off the charts well organized, and so is the course. Grading criteria, homeworks, practice midterms, opportunities to provide feedback, everything is clear and impeccably organized. Boya is one of the few professors in the math department who feels like she wants to help students learn. She's very accessible and helpful during office hours. Her lectures were very theoretical though. She did some examples but a heavy portion of it dealt with theorems and definitions that did not apply to the assignments.Rate My Professors ↗
