Billy Jackson was a decent professor. He is getting a lot of hate on here from people who, in my opinion, didn't study and/or are just not that good at math. All of the exams were fair. If you did the review guide at all and kept up with the homework, the course shouldn't have been hard. Sorry if this was blunt, but it is the truth. Sorry.Rate My Professors ↗
The best thing that I can say about this professor is that the exams are quite like the exam review, but other than that, his teaching style and the way he taught this already difficult course is terrible. If you have the chance to not take this professor, DONT. I had an ok TA and did well on homework and overall quizzes. I never met Billy Jackson and think the class has incredibly complicated and in depth content for first semester Algebra class. Much of the content I had friends in Calc 2/ tested out of math, be unable to assist with content. 0/10Rate My Professors ↗
Jackson is fine. Stuff on exams is basically stuff we do in lectures. Go to class and you're fine as long as you remember the stuff from Calc 2 and calc 3 . Class can be a bit dry at times but between the homework which 45% of the grad which he helps with when you ask him and the easy exams, the class is pretty easy.Rate My Professors ↗
I have basically had to teach myself this entire course. The lectures make no sense, the homework has no answer keys so the grading is unfair and no feedback is given. Dont take this class, if you have to, find a different professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Jackson embodies the Socratic method in his teaching. His exam reviews are helpful and indicative of the exam. His writing is illegible sometimes, but makes up for it with how much he talks in lecture. He has a passion for teaching and it shows in how he answers questions during lecture and office hours.
