Beck is a super nice and caring guy but avoid this course. The class average on the midterm was a 60% with no curve. The homework's/stuff you do in class doesnt help for the exams. Basically, the class is trying to memorize 40+ formulas while also learning a whole new programming language in MATLAB.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof Hasti is a great professor and cared about all of the students in his class. He was always careful to go over course logistics at the beginning of lecture. He was organized and fair, which is very important for a large class.Rate My Professors ↗
Beck is an amazing professor and explains unfamiliar concepts very well. The course isn't difficult if you actually pay attention and do assignments yourself, and it's quite easy to get an A if you know what you're doing. The grading timeline is absolutely horrendous, though my TAs confirmed this was the fault of one specific TA, not Beck.Rate My Professors ↗
Unacceptablly slow turnaround for grading. Blames it on “large class size” when so many other classes have larger classes and get grading done timely. Takes months to grade a simple homework, going into the final we had assignments from September ungraded.Rate My Professors ↗
