About this rating

Raw average: 2.50/5 from 8 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 4/5
Overall, Anru is a very nice professor. The main problem I have noticed is that he does a very poor job of explaining concepts in class. In addition, there is no structure to the class. He jumps around from chapter to chapter in the book. Unless you are ready to teach yourself outside of class, I do not recommend taking this class.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 4/5
Overall, Anru is a great person. You will not find a math professor nicer than him. However, he doesn't do a good job at explaining concepts. Without a prior statistics background you may need to spend a lot of time outside of class to teach yourself.

Prof Zhang was very ok. He goes over homework problems in the beginning of class, but he won't help with homework in his office hours which is annoying. The class was quite difficult, and he often times got lost in his own work or got confused in his own problems. The lectures were not always clear, and I felt like I had to teach myself a lot.

Prof Zhang is a really nice guy. He can be a bit confusing with the way he explains material. He offers help on the homework problems before lectures so that is a bonus. The class seemed to lack structure so be prepared to jump around the textbook. The final is worth a very large portion of your grade so it can help/hurt depending on your score.

Anru cares about his students; he'll try his best to re-explain the concepts if he feels like his students are confuse or have a "puzzled facial expression." Overall Anru is a great professor and is accessible outside of class.

Meh. Best part about this class is that for exams you get two 8.5x11 sheets of paper, front and back. Makes exams pretty easy.
