About this rating

Raw average: 4.00/5 from 4 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Andy is great! Such a sweet guy, always wanting to help everyone, funny, and so knowledgeable. He's more focused on the production of prints instead of the composition, so he doesn't give too much criticism. He said it best by saying he isn't there to make you an "artist", he's there to help you learn methods to make art. Cool guy overall.

this is for dr. rubin's nyu dc class -- it's true that he's a smart guy but CANNOT teach for shit; if you are knowledgeable/passionate about what he teaches about, class is very interesting and engaging but if you're not, it will be a bore 😬 rubin cares about his students and shows it in his own way, but he does have a bit of an ego

So inspirational and one of the best etching teachers you will probably get. So much experience in techniques and taught many of them over the course of the semester. Only thing that is negative is that you don't receive clear grading requirements/don't know where you stand until the end of the semester.

Funny dude, fun class. If you put in the time, get the projects done, and demonstrate some level of caring about learning, you'll get an A. He could stand to care a bit more (i.e. go around and check in on how students' projects are going), but IS willing to talk about stuff/lend his help if you go to him. Loves haiku, likes rock formations.
