I have little more to add than what has already been said. But in response to the comment below, I have a brain (A student). I'm engaged in literature (English major). And I found her as dry as everyone else did. I hated how she READ her lectures and always seemed bored. The material was interesting, but she does not present it well.Rate My Professors ↗
I had her for the previous spring semester and I got an A in the class. However it was NOT due to her initiative. It was only saved by the great TA and my own efforts. She talks at you, and reads from tiresome speeches. She goes very fast and gets mad if you don't answer her questions which are a pathetic attempt to make the class interactive.Rate My Professors ↗
ATTENTION ANYONE WHO HAS A BRAIN OR WHO IS INTERESTED AND ENGAGED IN LITERATURE. Amy Johnson may not be the lecturer that every C-average student desires. She doesn't have power points with bulleted main ideas but her class was one of my favorites. If you are advanced enough you will get a lot out of this class!! Ser lectures are 8 page written speeches NOT lectures. She talks on and on at you not to you. While she does supply notes for you (which are conveniently posted online right before exams) they are 1 page outlines of NOTHING. Attendance, luckily, is not mandatory.Rate My Professors ↗
TERRIBLE. Do NOT take a class from her. She was incomprehensible in lectures and very unhelpful in office hours. I rarely went to lecture because each time I went I wanted to shoot myself in the foot. You're responsible for an overwhelming # of texts--over 65! I am really quite angry with the English Department for hiring such an incapable, inexperienced lecturer for required class/huge lecture. Mundane, incomprehensible lectures riddled with unnecessary multi-syllabic words; put this class off as long as you can, maybe the department will come to their senses and hire someone else.Rate My Professors ↗
