Horrible professor. Puts questions on exams we've never seen in lecture or in homework problems. Gave surprise quizzes at least once a week which sometimes were extremely hard and had nothing to do with the topics learned during that week. Sometimes the ta didn't even know how to solve the problems. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE.Rate My Professors ↗
Fish is a super funny guy but is harder than heck to follow in class. Doesn’t speak the best English and focuses a lot on proofs rather than example probs. Expectations of class aren’t well defined. Class got frustrating at times but had an easy curve in the end. Tests can get really hard and he puts down probs more complicated than the examples.Rate My Professors ↗
He often had to stop in the middle of a lecture because he made a mistake. He rarely was able to find his mistake and never came back to it so we were left with incorrect notes. I never used lecture notes for homework or studying. He is a good guy, just not a good teacher.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Fish missed 3 of the first 5 lectures. The subs were organized and thorough. NOT SO WITH FISH! He went through proofs with his face in the book (the subs didn't even do that!). although he progressed throughout the semester, i learned nothing from attending lecture. i am a math major and came out of the class with an ab midterms are semi difficult but doable.. the final was ridiculously difficult and we were extremely unprepared. he was hard to follow but a very nice guyRate My Professors ↗
Im enrolled in the wes program so luckily im still getting a good grade in the class. no thanks to to AFish. i stopped going to lecture and just sleep in and teach myself from the book or on the internet. lectures are a waste of timeRate My Professors ↗
