Course Description

Learn how to adapt writing, speaking, and nonverbal behavior to effectively communicate in a Western European context (e.g. Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain). Examine issues such as cultural attitudes toward authority, time, gender, and race, as well as the religious and philosophical values that support those attitudes. Explore frameworks for understanding a national culture's influence on communication and learn how to apply that to practical use.
