What you’ll be able to do
Compare and contrast how academic writing, including the publication review process is different from other types of writing.
Apply the writing techniques covered in the course and demonstrate knowledge of academic writing through written course work.
Evaluate and critique extant research publications.
Consistently and accurately apply APA style to written work.
Evaluate and provide self-and peer critique.
Effectively communicate research ideas, findings, and implications through writing and presentations.

Writing seminar serving as a writer's workshop to work on a research project. Discuss the writing process and writing barriers. Set and discuss goals for writing and struggles with writing. Designed to equip knowledge and skills necessary to be thoughtful critical consumers and producers of education research. Develop skills necessary to summarize, synthesize, and extend the research base on topics of personal and professional relevance, and foster research and writing proficiency.
