Investigates how education systems reflect, reproduce, and/or transform structural inequities - such as race, class, gender, and colonial legacies - through historical, theoretical, and contemporary lenses. Engages with policy debates, development interventions, and alternative frameworks for equity using case studies, critical readings, and multimedia. Highlights the roles of governments, NGOs, corporations, and grassroots movements in shaping educational outcomes. Not open to students with credit for ED POL 237 prior to Fall 2026.
