  • Have the tools to connect historical narratives to contemporary ones,seeming how societal values set in motion the current relationship american society has to the environment

  • Have a greater ability to be an informed consumer, conscious of the ways individual choices have effects on the environment and other societies

  • Study environmental issues through a lens of environmental justice, understanding that certain communities are affected at disproportionate rates by all aspects of normative consumer life
