Handle short social interactions in everyday situations by asking and answering a variety of questions in Persian.
Make presentations on a wide variety of familiar topics using connected sentences.
Write on a variety of familiar topics as well as topics related to school, work, and community using connected sentences.
Recognize the main idea in messages, presentations, and texts on a variety of topics related to everyday life and personal interests and studies.
Use the following strategies to comprehend texts: skim and scan; use visual support and background knowledge: predict meaning based on context or prior experience, use contextual clues.

Students with prior experience in the language are required to take a placement test administered by the department. Not open to students with credit for LCA LANG 463 prior to Fall 2019.
