I actually really loved Professor Crabb. His sense of humor was right up my alley as he'd go on tangents telling stories about his family or his old jobs. He was always VERY responsive and VERY helpful whenever I emailed him, even after the new professor started teaching, and he's great at explaining things. Would 100% take a class with him again!

Richard is a very wholesome and nice guy. He really cares about his students. He does a great job at explaining the material

Great teacher, the material is hard if you have never taken a stats class before but it is manageable if you commit time to it. The exams are difficult but there are no surprises. Overall a great teacher that really cares about his students.

Entertaining lectures, super helpful during office hours.

Richard Crabbs is an amazing and understanding instructor, truly cares for your academics. I had multiple technical errors with turning in my final papers and he was very understanding of my situation. Although lecture can be a bit hard to read for his handwriting, but he truly knows what he's talking about!

Professor had all the materials needed online, so missing lectures were no big deal. Very understanding and a large portion of the grade was a case study that was very easy to do given out discussion sections walked us through everything step-by-step. Professor was engaging during lectures, funny and easy to understand.

Good lectures (other than the handwriting). Good professor. Accessible outside of class. Kind of wish that there was not just 2 exams. Additionally, I was VERY sick during finals and reached out to see if anything could be done. I had to go in, and could not focus because of my illness. Only reason he does not get a 5. That dropped my grade to a B.

Professor Crabb is awesome! I had no prior stats experience and his teaching and resources facilitated success. I really ended up enjoying the class as well as using Excel. Definitely recommend taking him for Gen Bus 306

You can immediately tell he is perfect for teaching a tough statistics class like this. He ensures this class will turn out well for everyone, even if you haven't taken statistics before. The lectures are clear; he sometimes makes funny jokes and is very flexible. His take-away messages from this class are things I won't forget during my time here.

Richard is definitely one of the best professors I have had so far at UW-Madison. He is an amazing lecturer and very engaging. Very helpful during office hours as well. Exams are a little hard, but the review material covers almost everything. Definitely would take again!

One of the best business courses I have taken at UW - Madison. Richard is an amazing lecturer and very engaging. Exams are a little tough, but as long as you study and go to lecture, you should be fine.

Definitely take a class with Crabb if you can.

Richard was extremely funny and a great lecturer. Some people think that he might be too fast during lecture but as long as you stay locked in this class is a breeze! Richard always brings in loads of interesting industry experience that make his lectures inspiring and interesting. His comedic delivery is always on point too.

Fave professor in the b-school. Class structure is super clear and flexible and gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the class. He is interesting and hilarious, as well as a great lecturer. Posts his notes and detailed info for every lesson on canvas. It's not necessarily an easy class, but Crabb makes it manageable and even enjoyable.

Richard is phenomenal! I thoroughly enjoyed GB306, and I believe Richard was a key factor in that. Richard made lectures enjoyable by integrating stories from his personal and professional life with the material. There was plenty of material on canvas to prepare for exams, and requirements for success in this course were clear from the start. 10/10

Best professor I've had at Madison by far. His lectures are interesting and engaging and made me want to come to class. Exams aren't easy, but if you go to class and do the homework, you'll be fine. There's a generous curve and two case studies. If you're confused on anything, go to office hours and he'll walk through the problem step by step.

Professor Crabb is an amazing professor that is not easy to forget! He makes class fun and interesting! I was warned how difficult this course would be but taking it with him made it a lot easier! Great guy and class all around!

Super hard class if you don't know Stats -- like you will be behind if you don't work hard. However, Mr. Crabbs might be the most accommodating prof in the entire school and a super nice guy. He used to bring in soda to office hours and would help me with all of my many questions. It will be hard, but you will learn along the way.

Good

He is the best professor I've ever had at UW-Madison. He responds to emails very quickly and always accommodates students' needs. He is kind and always there to help his students to succeed in this class although the course materials are pretty challenging. Take his class for sure!!!!

GenBus306 is a hard class, but Richard Crabb made it enjoyable for me. He has a ton of industry experience in analytics & is open to sharing stories while also teaching the course content well. I email him a lot w/ questions lol, & he always explains things rly well & makes me enjoy learning. Honestly one of the best profs in the entire B-school.

Richard is very funny, and he might be the smartest professor at Madison. He wants everyone to succeed in his class, and even though the material can be challenging, he provides tons of practice. I strongly recommend taking Richard if you have the option.

He is the best professor I've ever had at UW Madison. He truly wants his students to succeed in this course by providing plenty of resources such as practice exams, ungraded homework, and unlimited time quizzes. He is always there to answer students' questions and accommodate students' needs. 100% take his class!!

The excel cases are pretty easy except the write up takes a lot of time. Office hours really helps for the cases. Quizzes were open note, difficult sometimes. Probability was confusing and overly difficult for no reason.

super understanding, & overall nice human being with great teaching skills

the actual material for the class is difficult, but he acknowledges that and provides plenty of resources to help you; practice exams, ungraded hw, videos, problems with solutions worked out. great guy who truly cares about his students

Richard teaches a fully online class, so the interaction with him is slim if you do not go to office hours. The material in the middle of the class is quite difficult, but the beginning and end are easy. Watch the online lectures and do the homework problems and you should not have a problem getting a good grade. 2 exams, 2 case reports & quizzes.

The material is quite difficult but can be learned with time and effort. Mr. Crabb and Dr. Bavafa are both engaging and make the course enjoyable. The questions on the exams are not meant to trick you. The course is very exam/project heavy. Weekly quizzes help you stay on track with the content.

Mandatory class the quizzes and tests were difficult, but I was able to muddle through and get a decent grade. Class was completely online.

Projects are very useless and there is no way to know if you are doing it correctly. Professor isn't really helpful in answering questions and doesn't seem that friendly. Smart guy that knows his stuff but could structure the class differently.

Professor Crabb is a genuinely nice person. He cares a lot about his students and is very patient and accommodating to extenuating circumstances. The class is by nature very difficult but he does a great job walking you through the content and makes sure it is not too overwhelming. Practice exams are very helpful!

Super smart, super funny, and a great guy overall. I had never taken a stats class, but he did a great job of explaining the concepts nonetheless.

Crabb was funny, nice, and understanding. Expectations for class were explicit, with weekly lectures, homework, and a quiz. Lectures relevant and broken down into short vids. Exams/quizzes were challenging, but not impossible. Casework was a diffucult but TAs/Crabb always available for help. Needed to work for good grade, but great prof for GenBus.

I didnt do great in this class, however this was mostly due to my own personal reasons. When I talked to Professor Crabb about class content or any personal issues I had, he was very helpful, understanding, and overall genuinely enjoyable to talk to. Definitely go to office hours if struggling, or meet with him. Awesome guy

The supplemental readings nicely bolstered the lecture videos. Hes very responsive to emails; if you ever have a question, just reach out to him and hell give you an answer. Even in a semester that was online, it felt like he was accessible at all times.

The course is very organized and the lectures are clear and pretty interesting because he always uses his own industry experience in examples. The supplemental modules are also nice if you learn better by reading than lectures (There's no TB for the class). Just get ready for a steep learning curve if you're not good with excel

The lectures were broken up into 10> minute segments and there were a lot of practice problems, quiz attempts, and past exams provided that were similar to questions on the exam. The two cases weren't hard, just time consuming, but the TAs were super helpful and all the TAs and Prof Crabb had many office hours and were very responsive.

All exam content is learned through lecture videos and notes. Gives plenty of examples and practice problems if you don't understand. Is pretty easy if you've taken stats before. Case studies require a lot of time but you have plenty of resources to figure out how to complete them(except the grading on the write-up by the TA's is a bit subjective).

Great guy. Friendly. Understanding. Excellent teacher. Precious and to the point. Clear examples.

2nd professor in the class. Covers probably the hardest modules in class if you've never taken statistics before. Class is pretty easy if you've taken AP Stats in highschool though as it's the exact same content. Exams ask tougher questions though. I felt like his online instruction was mediocre, and he asked way too convoluted questions at times.

GB 306 is overall a do able and enjoyable class as long as you take sometime and prepare for quizzes and midterms. Overall I enjoyed this class!

Good teacher, explains well but like others said - very fast. Either record the lectures or go to both lectures he teaches because you can't keep up with him and your notes. Do not rely on the HW problems he provides as a gauge of your understanding. The exams are much more difficult, so do the practice exams or I guarante you will do bad on exam.

This class was difficult but Professor Crabb made it interesting. You definitely have to work to do well in this class but if you want to learn something, Crabb is the right guy for you!

Professor Crabb is a good guy but his teaching style isn't for everyone. He goes pretty quickly through material and says things like, "pretty simple, right?" that make it hard to ask questions in lecture. Tests are definitely hard and require you to go to class in order to understand the content and do well.

Richard Crabb is a pretty good lecturer who spices up things during a lecture. He's funny (talks about his life a lot), and is the only professor who still uses Kahoot! college (Kudos to him). Really flexible if you have to extend deadlines. Exams are semi-hard because they are time-crunched. This class is super easy if you took AP Stats.

Decent professor, but the tests were difficult (especially the final).

Overall Professor Richard held inspirational lectures and the practice problems are really helpful. Do the practice problems early will help you survive the exams!

Richard is a great professor. Class is difficult but he provides plenty of help for you to succeed. Great guy who makes real life connections.

Richard is hilarious, I love his class and he is super funny! The lecture is useful and not driving me sleepy. The homework is fine but the exam is definitely hard. My TA--Kenny is so great. Just take this class even if you are not going into this field!!!!!!!!

Richard is funny, but goes very fast in lecture. This class was really hard for me, not gonna lie, but never fear - the class is curved generously. Got a BC on the first case, failed both exams, and got an A on the last case, and still somehow ended with a C. Study hard, but know if you're really struggling you should still be okay in the end.

Richard is a great professor, the material is difficult but he tries to make real life connections and answer questions to the best of his ability.

I'm really conflicted about this one. Richard Crabb is hilarious. He has great stories and plenty of applicable experience. Lecture is definitely interesting. This being said, if you don't have a stats background class can be really tough. Studying for the midterm can seem impossible because the material is extremely unpredictable.

Crabb is SO funny. I absolutely loved his antidotes and stories. Seriously, he made me want to study about a subject I did not know much about and made 50 minutes FLY by. He truly cares about his students and is brilliant. I hope I get to take a class with him, and am so bummed he only taught 1/3 of the class. Crabb, you rock!

Richard is a great guy. He gives fun lectures and shows you real-world applications of Analytics. The Module 2 Exam is hard, don't get me wrong. But, if you do all of his problem sets, go to lecture/discussion, you will succeed!

This course is taught by 3 different professors. Richard is the 2nd and although he is a great guy, his teaching is fairly accelerated. It's as simple as, if you don't show up, you won't pass and if you DO show up, you'll still be confused. It's a REALLY tough module so start reviewing from Day 1. Rumor is most students fail the module 2 exam - GL!

I'm currently in the second module and I love Prof. Crabb. He does a fantastic job of working through examples, even though they are pretty complicated. He responds to emails within hours which is always a bonus. As well, he's just a really nice guy who always tries to tell jokes and liven the class up by being a genuinely cheerful guy!

Crabb is a great guy, he is funny, social, really likes to teach, and is interesting to listen to. The one exam is tough and determines a large part of your grade in the class but the cases aren't bad. However, I wish he would make the exam more predictable and easier to study for.

Prof. Crabb is an incredible/passionate lecturer who brings in a lot of real world application. He takes a break during lectures to tell a story (usually quite funny) to keep students engaged. The course itself is kinda difficult, the exam (only 1) is long and hard, but if you put the work in on the cases you will do very well. Overall grade curved

Crabb makes a sometimes boring topic very interesting and relevant. He has real world experience so can easily connect to the material he is teaching and explains how it is used in real life. The cases are manageable. Exam is sort of difficult but the class is curved. I recommend this professor as he is very passionate about the subject.

This class can be difficult because you really need to be self-motivated. Cases aren't too bad but the midterm is pretty difficult. No final exam though.

Great lecturer. No graded homework or quizzes. No textbook used for the class. The exam is extremely hard. No final. He was funny.

To preface my comments, I had a good amount of education in statistics before taking this course. That said, Richard is one of the best teaches at the UW. He made a subject that is traditionally boring interesting and made the class move super quickly. Definitely would take another course with him.

Very good lecturer, connects concepts in class to work experience and the 'real world' . Very helpful after class or in office hours and an all around great guy. Go to class because the problem solutions aren't on the lecture slides.
