Great lecturer, very engaging and you can tell he truly enjoys teaching the material. Likes to make funny quips. He does frequently stop and take questions, which I personally did not like as it often led to us not finishing the lecture. This was my only issue, I would still definitely take a class taught by him in the future.

Dr. Weaver is a pretty okay lecturer and a nice guy. One time he showed up to our discussion in casual clothes and sat in the back of the room to watch us. Super accessible office hours, relatively easy class but high workload. Would recommend.

He is a solid professor and explains most concepts. Attendance is optional but recommended. The class is 5 units with FRQ tests and no final. Labs, discussions, and homework offer easy points. You need a complete understanding and application beyond lectures. Read the online textbook and slides. Podias are required, and you get a notecard.

Weaver is a great professor but Achem is a super tough class overall. Weaver makes the lecture super easy to follow and understand but the hard part of this class is your lab grades. You will need to lock in during labs as accuracy matters and lab grades are harsh if you don't. There are 3 exams total but the bulk of your grade comes from labs.

I got a C in the course, which I think accurately reflects the work I put in. He tries his best to meet you where you are at, and I can tell he genuinely wants you to learn. He communicates his expectations/grade cut-offs effectively, and unlike many professors, he is humble enough to correct his mistakes (gave points back for an extreme exam).

Dr. Weaver is an excellent lecturer and genuinely cares about his students; he was very understanding and accommodating when I had a personal situation and was experiencing difficulties. The class by its nature is hard, but he explains concepts well and does his best to help students. Exams were difficult, but not unfairly so.

Prof. Weaver was easy to understand and always clearly communicated expectations for the course. He is very knowledgeable and definitely made chemistry interesting.

Dr. Weaver was a great lecturer, he taught content effectively and in a way that was easy to understand, and lectures always went by fast. Be ready for a lot of work in this class primarily in lab. Overall it is a fun class that Jeremy made much more enjoyable through engaging lectures and exciting labs.

Weaver is a really good teacher, he explains things thoroughly and he genuinely loves his students and chemistry. He has a dry sense of humor and can be sorta monotone, but his teaching is so good and I enjoyed my semester with him!

I get very depressed and lose hope when I see him. His teaching style is boring. In right time, he can be condescending and manipulative.

This was Dr. Weaver's first semester teaching Achem here at UW but you wouldn't be able to tell because he has a knack for teaching. Each topic was covered at a very manageable pace and with a good depth of understanding from Dr. Weaver. The homework assigned was very manageable and was very applicable to assessments.

Jeremy is a great teacher.

Jeremy is a structured, clear communicator. Ample dad jokes. He is patient and calm while teaching students both in the classroom and in office hours. He accommodated my disability and a family emergency.

I was worried about Chem103 until I attended a few of Dr. Weaver's lectures- he's a fantastic instructor and has a rare combo of course expertise and teaching savvy. Tests are difficult but fair. Labs are heavy and stressful but help with learning course material. Doing the notes before you go to class is a must; lectures cover lots of information!

Dr. Weaver explains things clearly and is all around a nice person. Lectures give the bulk of the information you need for exams and quizzes. Made the class bearable.

Dr. Weaver is extremely dedicated and thorough in his teaching during lecture. He always allowed time for questions during lecture and explained concepts well, especially if it was a concept that everyone seemed to be struggling on. Be ready to dedicate a lot of time to 103, especially if you haven't done chemistry since high school.

Fantastic teacher, dry humor and cares a lot about making sure students understand material. Personally at the Chem 103 help desk to explain things outside of class. However, the class is so hard it has a dedicated help desk staffed by TAs and profs. You will need it. Lab prep and homework and reading takes up to 8-10 hours a week before studying.

This class has a lot of work but Weaver makes it entertaining. He will do cool experiments in class to help you understand concepts. Really organized and had great slides that were engaging and he made sure you truly understood the material by explaining it in different ways. The curve for this class is soooo helpful. He cracks some good jokes too!

Great professor, quick and heavy content.

Prof Weaver cares so deeply about chemistry and his students. The class is hard- and he tells you that- but lectures were always interesting and his tests were fair. He was very approachable and wasn't strictly business 24/7, so chemistry was overall a win. Take his section, work hard, and you'll do great!

great

Chem 104 is NOT easy, but I found Professor Weaver to be a pretty good teacher. Exams were fair, but just doing the readings and showing up won't get you a good grade. You have to really apply yourself to be successful in this course. In all, not a groundbreaking lecturer but a very good one. I would recommend you take his courses.

Chemistry 103 isn't an easy course. Still, Professor Weaver did a really great job of breaking down the content for every lecture and the tophat questions were a really great way to exercise your knowledge and engage in the content. He genuinely cares about his students, as many as there are, and has been nothing but supportive of his students. A+

You can tell Professor Weaver cares about his students. While the lectures can be boring like every other class, he does a great job at explaining the concepts while the TopHat questions keep you engaged. This class was most difficult when I wouldn't pay attention in lecture or ask him / TA questions, so make sure you stay engaged.

Dr. Weaver truly is an awesome professor! I had him for the Chem 103/104 series, and I can confidently say that he does everything in his power to help students understand the difficult content. The course load and difficultly is to be expected, with fair exams and quizzes. Dr. Weaver is an awesome individual who loves chemistry AND his students!

Dr. Weaver is absolutely a good professor. Lectures are boring but explanations are really clear to help you understand each obscure concept. He looks serious, but actually a kind person. Very Caring about his student.

Professor weaver was super nice and helpful. I hate chemistry with a burning passion but he is super caring about his students. When I had a mental health crisis he let me take an exam a week after I was suppose to and didn't ask questions. He also didn't push me to take the exam sooner than I was ready. Rate 10/10.

Dr Weaver does a good job explaining. He knows his stuff well. His lectures get boring and it gets hard to stay motivated because somehow he manages to get more and more boring on a weekly basis.

I had Dr. Weaver for both Chem 103 and 104, by choice. I really enjoyed his teaching style and he is very laid back. All the sections for these classes do the same assignments so I highly recommend taking Dr. Weaver's lecture, as he is very easy to understand and ensures that the class fully grasps the concept before moving on to the next.

I hated chem and it's a hard class, but Weaver made it much more tolerable. He cares about students' mental health and is very accommodating with McBurney, lectured and answered questions well, and pre/post class materials were always relevant and helpful. There's typically review ?'s in the lec before exams, no lab week of or lec/disc day of exam.

Professor Weaver made me love chemistry. He is very passionate about his lectures and gives good feedback.

I thought Dr. Weaver was an exceptionally good professor! He always gave us a whole lecture to review for our upcoming test, and you could tell that he genuinely cared how we did and if we understood the material. Chem 103 was hard, but he definitely made it easier!

Absolutely hated this class, but I have nothing bad to say about Professor Weaver. The only thing I liked about this course was him. If you have to take 103, please take it with Weaver. Very caring and accommodating.

Good at explaining during office hours, exams are crazy hard since they arent like the materials you practice during pre class or discussion activities. Lectures arent that dull, is willing to help, but is pretty strict about deadlines. generous curve, but test averages are around 59-68%.

Dr Weaver is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. Ya the class was yer hard, but every Chem 103 class is a lot of work and difficult. You can easily tell that he is a very caring professor and he wants all of his students to do well. I am taking 104 early in the morning just to be with him because I loved his style of teaching.

Dr. Weaver was an awesome professor. His lectures were engaging and extremely beneficial to understanding the content. Exams were straight forward with a 2-3 curve balls each exam. Chem 103 is not an enjoyable class due to workload and difficulty, but the most enjoyable experience would be with Dr. Weaver.

Professor Weaver was an awesome lecturer! He was easily accessible outside of class, and even expanded his office hours during exam weeks. I would definitely recommend him. He does assign a lot of preclass readings and assignments but if you stay on top of it from the beginning, you're bound to do great.

Professor Weaver is very helpful and cares about students success. He is a pretty good lecturer and offers many options to get extra help. Expectations are clear and there are many resources available in order to succeed on exams. This is a challenging course, however staying caught up on readings and participating in lecture makes it manageable.

Professor Weaver is one of the best professors I had this semester. He seems to genuinely care about his students and has a great ability to dumb down curriculum to get down on the student's level. If you pay attention and get help when you need it you should have no issue getting an A in this class. Exams are fair and graded on a curve.

Dr. Weaver is a good lecturer and clears up misconceptions or harder-to-grasp concepts from pre-class. Although a more rigorous course, it is manageable and the tests are fair.

Maybe its just me but this class was the hardest class ever. It wasnt at all that professor weaver was a bad teacher, there is just so much material to learn and they teach it so fast. Overall professor weaver was engaging, kind, and was super good at lecturing.

Chem 103 is a tough class but Dr. Weaver made it manageable. There is a lot of assignments but they're easy to guess on and you get 3 attempts. Discussion is laid back. Exams are difficult but heavily curved. Dr. Weaver seems like the kind of guy who believes no student should be left behind. I enrolled in another class with him because he's great.

if you go to lecture actively participate in what is being lectured on, answer the top hat questions and do the pre-class work, the information was understandable. Very accessible outside of class through office hours along with chem help desk with the TAs. Tests are difficult but they will be with any chem class.

Dr. Weaver is a wonderful professor who really cares about his student's success and engagement with chem. His lectures are super engaging and packed with a ton of super helpful practice problems, and his exam reviews are super tailored to the class. So enjoyable that I intentionally enrolled for Chem104 with him.

Really enjoyed Dr. Weaver as a person, and is very knowledgable in the subject. Was nice to have a professor who did more than just read off the slides.

Bad prof

He does a very good job explaining concepts during lectures if asked to. His exam reviews are amazing and he gives a reasonable amount of work. Passionate about his work and is genuinely concerned about his students.

With the online format I didn't have a chance to have Professor Weaver as a lecturer, but he was always very interactive online and seemed to care about his students. He also was quick to respond to emails! Use all the resources provided especially the practice exams!

Chem 103 is notoriously a hard class, but having Prof Weaver definitely made it easier. The clear grading criteria is what helped me do well in the class. Weaver also cares about his students and his office hours were helpful. His whole class lectures were helpful in my opinion so i'd suggest going to lecture or actually watching them later on.

Lots of work, good professor

I had to retake chem103 because of an awful experience my fall semester. I went in extremely apprehensive, but Dr. Weaver assured his students that nobody is alone in their reason for taking this class. I instantly felt better and more welcome. The course is a lot of work, but he is responsive, helpful, and empathetic. I wish I had him the 1st time

Chem 103 is no joke and it is a very tough class with a lot of work no matter who your professor is. Dr. Weaver was always so helpful and would re-explain any topic that students asked. He left time at the end of lectures to ask question and before exams he would usually had an extra office hours time.

I took chem 103 last semester and it was my first semester in any online courses and I felt Dr. Weaver did a fantastic job in his whole class lectures as well as changing his office time so that we can have that resource near exam time. His exams were pretty fair and overall I would recommend this prof.

Weaver really cared for his students' success. The class itself was hard and had a heavy workload, but the work assigned was helpful. His lectures were optional and focused more on answering questions than teaching. The class was mostly self-taught , but he was very accessible during office hours which were helpful before quizzes/exams. Recommend!

With online school I didnt really attend lectures because they were a waste of time. Was able to succeed because of clear expectations. The resources are all there

Prof Weaver was fine, but I'd take Chem 103 with a different professor if I had the chance. The 2nd exam was ridiculously hard and so was this class. There are three midterms and if you do poorly on one of them, your entire grade dies. Overall, hated this class but the professor was ok.

He comes to class without a lot of content ready for his students and he does not curve exams. Good luck. His TAs are his saving grace.

he is a great lecturer. very in depth and really tries to make time for the students and make sure they know what's going on and will actually succeed in the class.
