Consider important periods and topics such as the Weimar Republic (1918-1933); Nazism (1933-1945); post-war popular cinema; socialist East Germany; New German Cinema; and art house and international favorites of the contemporary period. Analyze how the films represent important cultural and social issues such as gender, sexuality, race/ethnicity, class, nationality, globalization, and migration.
