Great professor who is really funny and clearly cares a lot about each individual student. His passion and kindness show in every lecture, and he pushes you in research to dig deeper and think critically. Coursework is very easy throughout the entire semester, which makes the class enjoyable and low stress.

Took this class for my Comm B requirement. Professor is very knowledgable and talks plenty in lectures. My whole class was centered around a research paper and I felt like most information in lectures was not really helpful or important for my paper. Boring for me but also could be bc I'm not a history major, fine if it's just for credit.

Professor Grant is a fun person and has a lot of fun stories, but his teaching was oftentimes hard to follow. The course itself was an easy A as all you need to do is read A LOT and do weekly Inquisitives and a few very small papers. It is a super easy class but I would only recommend it for people who just need credit and aren't interested in hist

Profesor soooo awesum!! He teach a lot very good and he is smarat

Great professor and an interesting class, as you get to choose what to discuss. The only downside is the mandatory one-on-one chat with him, which doesn't feel entirely necessary. Overall, it's an enjoyable and unique lecture experience where you really get out of the class what you put into it.

In lecture he talked a lot but didn't say much. None of what he said in class was graded on. All of the grades were just attendance or online quizzes based on the textbook. Super caring guy and he was clearly very invested in the content and teaching us. However, the delivery was extremely poor. So lecture was completely useless.

Great guy, super knowledgeable. The lectures and readings were interesting, and I loved discussions in the smaller class format--you will not like this class if you're not ready to talk. Several assignments we didn't get to and he just gave us 100's, I found him to be a pretty easy grader. Tended to get side tracked during lectures.

Professor Grant is an awesome person and truly cares about his students. His lectures were sometimes unorganized and hard to follow. He is so passionate about what he is teaching that he gets off topic sometimes which can be confusing. He is super easy to ask questions and get help, he also gives great feedback on papers. Overall, great guy.

Professor Grant seems to care a lot about the things he discusses in African History, but he never sets clear guidelines for assignments and often doesn't even tell you when he's assigning something. I spent over $130 on textbooks just to show up to class and learn nothing related to the information. Great guy, terrible professor.

Professor Grant really seems to care about the world and stuff, but he was so hard to follow. It felt like each lecture we would sit through him rambling endlessly about seemingly unrelated things. I once went two straight weeks without showing up to lecture and nothing negative happened whatsoever. It's an easy A, but it was almost not worth it.

Paul Grant was a very interesting professor, but one of the best I've had. He genuinely cares about his students and is passionate about what he does. There is a lot of reading involved in the class and is not test-heavy. Grant made it very enjoyable to come to class. Would definitely recommend to take his class!

Prof Grant was okay, he's very enthusiastic about lectures but they're a bit disorganized. You don't really have to attend lec (disc is mandatory) except to complete some writing assignments. There's a lot of readings, but only some of them are needed for disc and writings; no exams but a lot of writing assignments w/ ~5 150-word essay questions
