Very simple class, great for fulfilling the CALS first year seminar requirement. Some lectures felt less useful than others, but the ones that were useful really helped me. Expect assignments every week, but nothing that's an insane amount of work, especially if you stay on top of them.

Was very easy to talk to outside of class. The actual course was really easy, and as long as you show up to class and turn in work, you should get a good grade.

Pretty chill professor and overall nice person

A waste of time.

Liza makes this class so awesome! She sets students up for success and always goes above and beyond.

Liza is a super kind and caring person! Her classes are useful and supportive of students' learning but not particularly difficult. She does a good job creating a sense of community in her classroom.

CALS QuickStart is a tremendously structured class and enhanced by wonderful peer leaders. Liza genuinely prepares CALS first-year students by having them generate a four-year plan and knowing that they always have a resource in Liza. I felt way ahead of my peers when I came into college, and the Early Move-In was seriously the best! Love Liza!!!!!

Liza's Honors in Research seminar is nothing short of supportive and beneficial. Liza takes you on an in-depth tour of what it means to be an undergraduate researcher, and she leaves no stone unturned. She guides students through finding a mentor, reading scientific literature, and planning out their Honors in Research experience. Amazing class.

Liza is truly one of the greatest assets that this university has. She is tremendously loved by her students, and unlike most instructors, she genuinely cares about her students and even intentionally learns their names and gets to know them. You will be hard-pressed to find a more incredible instructor, mentor, and person than Liza.

The class was fairly easy, as it's a first year seminar. There was an even split between working on projects and learning about school resources. Class was large, and partially managed by peer leaders. Liza is very nice, and makes everything as clear as possible. Rubrics, project timelines, and resources were all understandable and easy to find.
