Professor Neville is genuinely kind-hearted and cared a ton about us. Her class was a little light on reading and work but discussions were still very informative. She hosted us at her house for final presentations (with food!) which was incredibly nice of her. Overall a great professor + straight-up great person.
Easy class but it required lots of reflection. She is nice
An easy and fun class that's worth it for an extra credit! You really do learn a lot!
Prof Neville is THE BEST. I 100% recommend her FIG. She is big into "grades don't define what you have learned" and everything is basically graded by completion. She is so caring and she mostly wants you to walk away knowing how to be passionate and successful. Every lecture is a student led discussion and the readings are super interesting.
Easy class. That's it.
Prof. Neville makes it very clear that she wants you to succeed. She provides a lot of useful tips and makes accommodations to help you as best as she can. She is very nice, and she doesn't make you do busy or useless work. Prof. Neville is a great, enthusiastic teacher!
Lectures are fantastic even if you don't like late antiquity history. She gives multiple opportunities for everyone to get an A with test retakes and paper rewrites. Probably the easiest class I've taken yet, graded by TopHat, discussion section, 4 papers, and 6 MC take home tests. Her enthusiasm and knowledge make the class a must-take!
She takes care to make sure her students succeed - super easy to communicate with and very helpful. She's knowledgeable and funny. Her class isn't too hard, expect a handful of short essays and take-home tests.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HISTORY PROFESSOR AT UW MADISON. She is very knowledgeable and patient. Classes are so interesting that you cannot possibly fall asleep. Teach you how to write effectively. Fair grader and AWESOME personality. Even invite her students to her house for Thanksgiving Dinner!!! Both Hist 112 and 200 are good! Strongly Recommend!!!
One of the best professors I've ever had! She is hilarious and makes everything interesting, even if you aren't a history buff. No exams, a few super easy quizzes and 3 one page papers. Buying the book is unnecessary as long as you attend lecture (which is super entertaining so you won't want to miss it).
I absolutely loved Prof. Neville! She is hilarious and very knowledgable about what she is teaching. If you go to lecture you will do well on the quizzes. The "papers" are really just short responses. This is a really interesting and easy class if you need Humanities credits!
Very easy to get a good grade if you go to lecture. only quizzes and papers. you pick the questions that go on the quizzes and papers are only a page long. Also very interesting material.
Enjoyed class. Interesting lectures. Easy quizzes that were still curved. If you go to class and listen you will get an A on every quiz without studying.
Very good lecturer. It is NOT possible to fall asleep in her class. Make sure you attend her lectures and take good notes from the powerpoints. Quizzes are easy if you study all the facts from lecture.
Reeally good lecturer, kept it interesting. She knows her stuff, and made sure we understood. No exams, and really straight forward quizzes, especially if you use previous quizzes to study.
Quizzes are easy. Everyone I know did great without studying.
She went to Yale and is clearly very proud of herself for that. She is condescending in lectures. She doesn't give exams but instead gives quizzes that test you on the most arbitrary and nit picky details from lecture. Everyone I know failed each of these by wide margins. Other than that it's an average history class - papers, discussion, etc.
She's a great professor. Grades tough, but her class was mostly papers and presentations. No exam and she doesn't expect you to know everything about the Crusades or know all the dates. I liked this class a lot.
She's a pretty good professor. Her lectures can sometimes be all over the place, but she definitely knows her subject. Grade is mainly based on short essays and quizes--no exams. Overall I'd recommend her. She keeps it fairly interesting.
