Inter-LS 215...Do yourself a favor and don't take this class. SO much work, unclear directions, and attendance taken in lecture. During lecture you have to do active learning activity. Easy class but at what cost. Discussions are such a waste of time and you aren't allowed to use laptops during them. Absence makeup assignments are long and tedious
I took Inter-LS 215 with Professor Jibson. 4-5 page papers due every Sunday, on top of the multiple assignments due Wednesday night. With the amount of work, I wouldn't recommend. I found myself doing work for this class when I should've been studying for major-related exams. ATTENDANCE TAKEN IN LECTURE. You have two missed absences and that's it.
I took Dr. Jibson for L I S 210 and honestly he was great. While there is a lot of work for a 1 credit class, he was super helpful and I learned a lot about career development and personal growth in this class. Highly recommend him but don't take the class in the morning!
I took Inter-He 215 with him. He is very nice and so was my TA for the course. It is a easy A but SO much busy work, it felt like I had a paper every week. I had other classes much more important than this but I felt like I was always doing assignments for this class so it was annoying
teaching style to be very rigid and difficult to engage with. He tends to be extremely strict, which made the classroom environment feel more tense than constructive.when it came to discussing grades or academic concerns, he was not very receptive. He often seemed unwilling to consider students' perspectives or explanations
Jonathan was very engaging and his assignments were always clear and fun! He mentioned assigning more work than other english 100 professors but I thought the workload was very appropriate, especially with his scheduling and overall organization of the class.
In the first lecture he mentioned he gives out more work than most Eng professors, but getting assignments done each week was not hard! There were no exams but attendance was pretty strictly mandatory. It was great being in a small class where Jonathan truly wanted to get to know each student, and each paper was interesting and allowed creativity.
He was really engaging with the students. He made all of his lectures really fun.
Jonathan is by far the most engaging professor I had in my first semester and was absolutely amazing. He related his assignments to concepts students could apply in any field occupationally. There are workshops to help peer review but it was super helpful and everyone is super nice (his icebreakers genuinely really helped us get to know each other)
I took Professor Jibson's English 100 this semester and it was amazing. He may scare you at the beginning by mentioning that his class will be more work that the other English 100 professors but it's worth it. There are no exams in this class, just a lot of papers. 10/10 would recommend.
