Aerothermochemistry, kinetics of combustion reactions, kinetics related to air pollutant generation. Development and comparison of transition state theory, collision theory and bond-energy-bond-order method. Intermediate knowledge of thermodynamics and combustion and basic understanding of kinetic theory of gases, statistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics for gases [such asM E 601: Physics of Gases] required.
