Prof. Zara is incredible. The bad reviews on here are nonsense—she's one of the kindest professors I've had and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. She adjusts the pace of the class based on how we're doing, gives tons of helpful resources, and made learning fun. Our class got super close thanks to her.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Chowdhary is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. She is a nice grader and understanding of any problems you might have relating to school, work, or absences. This class definitely throws a lot of information at you, and you have to keep up daily with the textbook or you really fall behind. While it was clear that Prof. Chowdhary is very knowledgeable about the Hindi language and India, everything else about the class was a mess--shifting deadlines, unclear assignments, and unreasonable expectations. A prior background in Hindi felt assumed, and the class felt overwhelming for a first-time learner.Rate My Professors ↗
Zara was very unclear about grading criteria and assignment deadlines, and the "exams" we had were not at all similar to the content we were taught in class. The class was an unnecessary amount of work and weirdly difficult. This class made me give up on learning Hindi because the experience was so bad.
