I skipped 90% of his lectures and got an A because statistics and math comes pretty naturally to me. My friends who struggle with math went to every lecture and bombed his exams. What I'm saying is, he does not actually teach you, he derives a couple equations for you that you need to learn how to use on your own. Definitely the worst Genetics profRate My Professors ↗
Definitely not a class you want to take if you're not passionate about genetics. Dr. Engels is great at giving you outside resources compared to some professors in the department. Online quizzes every week are pretty easy, and he gives you specific practice problems for them. Haven't touched the book since he started teaching and am doing great!Rate My Professors ↗

Your whole grade is determined by an online math quiz. If you typed one wrong number into your calculator, you got the whole problem wrong. This entire class was extremely discouraging. Super hard work will get you at best a B. Don't take this class unless you have to for your major.Rate My Professors ↗
Cares less about the class than the students, solely a teacher so he can do research. He is of zero help and is socially inept and seems to not want students to succeed. Avoid at all cost.
