Her lectures got to be a little long at times, as she would often say "umm" or "uhh" quite often. Other than that she was super understanding and accommodating to outside circumstances and just life in general. Was very kind and empathetic, just talked in a circle a lot. I took this class two semesters ago, and I honestly cannot remember any notable instance of Professor Gent, good or bad. If you have a good TA, it will help you a lot because this class is incredibly discussion heavy. With that said, I think Professor Gent does really care about making the class interesting, and her passion does show through.Rate My Professors ↗
She definitely knows what she is talking about, and her lectures required a lot of collaboration with other classmates. If you miss lecture, the online activity that follows you can't do because it corresponds with lecture examples. Not a ton of reading, but could get along without it. She knows her stuff and makes the material interesting. Lots of reading (not really, you could skip and be fine) and 4 papers with a huge final project. Only complaint is that nothing gets put online and she would just say important definitions rather than put them on the slide, so if you're not listening, you will miss important info.Rate My Professors ↗
The Communication Arts 260 class that I had her for was pretty straightforward. The concepts she was lecturing about were basically common sense to begin with and then she would add a lot of examples to make sure each term was incredibly clear.
