About this rating

Raw average: 2.62/5 from 8 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

This might be the easiest class at this university. Content is not interesting or particularly useful but professors are caring and do a great job setting clear expectations. No final, no midterms, minimal writing, definitely take this course with her if you are looking to fill up space for a difficult semester.

I think those that disliked Professor Stull don't regularly go to lectures. Everything you need is covered in lecture--take notes or email her if you can't go. There are readings but they're doable. Some assignments are excessive, but two are dropped. She's always available, is SO caring, and as long as you pay attention & read, you'll do fine!

I overall enjoyed this class, but to echo the other comments here, some of her methods were annoying. Her slides are incredibly text-heavy and don't isolate the main information that you're expected to know. I thought it was a lot more work than a 3-credit class should be. However, this was her first time teaching, and she's super nice and receptiv

Professor Stull is an extremly tough grader. The quizzes are set up for you to fail unless you go to lecture, and read every reading in its entirety. She will remove things from the slides that she puts on quizzes even though she posts the slides, so you have to go even though attendance is mandatory. Don't take her classes or this class.

She reads directly from her lecture slides (and posts them), making attendance pointless. However, she will quiz you on *very specific* things that were on the lecture slides and removes those specific lines from the slides. Basically, you have to attend lecture to write down maybe 3 definitions/points to get full points on quizzes. Avoid.

Lectures are often hard to understand and are opinionated. Quizzes are open note but even so are difficult due to their nuances (e.i. changing a word in a definition makes it incorrect). All readings are required and you are expected to remember them for many weeks (over 40 readings). The final is completely different from all other quizzes.
