NTP 524 is no joke- 3 exams contribute to 90% of your grade. An A is definitely possible with the extra credit opportunities! Be sure to actually understand the neural mechanisms underlying each motor/sensory/cognitive pathway. Exams are roughly 50% MC/ 50% essay. Tough class, but very interesting topics!! I won't lie, the class is really tough. BUT the content is incredibly interesting. Slides and notes are available to buy for cheap. Dont always align with lecture perfectly, but they are helpful. Don't buy textbook. 12 essays are given ahead of time, 3 are on exam. Get together with a ton of people and make a google doc. Must work hard to get an A.Rate My Professors ↗
Course isn't structured very well at all. Course modules provided are rough to say the least, and tests are ridiculously specific. Great professor. Clearly interested in the subject and excited to teach so that the students will grow to love the material too. Sometimes lectures can drag on a bit, but he provides course notes and powerpoints as well as recommended reading to supplement the lecture. Tom is a great professor who really wants you to succeed (as long as your willing to put in the effort). Class def requires work and studying, and there are two labs throughout the semester. Some how I came out with an A in the class but it did require A LOT of work. If neuro is your thing you'll find it very interesting!Rate My Professors ↗
