Timur is ok, you can consider him average for Linear Algebra lecturers. The only issue is how Math 340 is structured as a course at UW-Madison. The course is so test heavy and a lot of the test questions are meant to confuse you or test esoteric rules sometimes.Rate My Professors ↗
Timur is the way to go for 340!! His lectures are pretty easy going, and it is easy to follow along. His lectures are also recorded, and he posts the notes. Stay on top of the lecture material and you will do just fineRate My Professors ↗
I really like Timur as a person as well as a professor, although his he does have a habit of making some minor mistakes which costed time during lecture, although reading the lecture notes wasn't too bad as his handwriting isn't too bad. Professor Yastrzhembskiy is a decent professor, but not very helpful if you ask for clarification. His lectures are difficult to understand, and you will most likely have to rewatch them. He has a nice sense of humor to cheer up the mood. There are biweekly quizzes in the discussion sections, which help prepare you for exams. He is overall okay.Rate My Professors ↗
The professor is great, he did everything he can do to let you get a high grade for the test. His notes are really helpful and he is a very kind person. However, the setting of this class is absolutely awful, 76% percent of the grade is the three tests. The real question is difficultly of test in S25 is relatively harder than the previous semester.Rate My Professors ↗
He is an amazing teacher who cares a lot about his students. He has a pretty thick Slavic accent, which can make the lecture hard to follow occasionally, but the provided notes worksheets entirely make up for it.
