Tim has a sense of humor that allows you to stay engaged throughout the lecture. The only "bad" thing I would say is that he tends to ramble or go over one topic so much that there wouldn't be enough time to cover the whole lecture that day. But it didn't affect my ability to do well on the tests. Try not to skip the lectures, though.Rate My Professors ↗
Tim is super funny and sweet, if you don't love the subject its pretty boring but it's not hard. Labs are mostly busy work but you can leave early usually and if you don't wanna do hands on stuff its nice.Rate My Professors ↗
Great guy, clearly passionate about the topic and his students. Lowkey a ball of sunshine. Labs are tedious, lectures can become long tangents, but all material is valuable in the end and I don't feel like I wasted my time taking this class. Tim's a very nice guy who's passionate about environmental sustainability, but his lectures need a rewrite. There's an incredible amount of slides per lecture (115ish) most of which don't add anything to the class. He loves a tangent while skipping the important parts of lecture while going heavy on small topics. Easy grading, labs were busywork.Rate My Professors ↗
If you're genuinely interested in diving deep into the carbon cycle, learning about energy use on campus, or need a science credit, I wouldn't particularly write off this class as a bad option. Tim is nice but isn't great at lecturing. We'd often fall behind during lectures as Tim went on and on about current events at the University which is entirely negative but doesn't need to take 20-30 minutes of class. The class just felt like a waste of time and the labs had very little to do with the lecture (The TAs also did very little in lab).Rate My Professors ↗
