*Summer Semester review* Great Professor. However, don't get caught off guard thinking the exams will be as easy as the hw. You'll need to spend time on practice problems to get a 'complete understanding'. Very generous on partial credit. I'd watch the lectures and read the example problems in the book since those help a lot!

Good professor, INCREDIBLE Teacher

I struggled in this class lol but not because of him... Probably only reason I passed. He is well spoken and simplifies content well through his examples. One of my favorite ME professors so far.

Sonny is a pretty chill professor, and does a good job of engaging his students. Dynamics has a pretty steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of it its not too bad

He literally laughed and told us we were dead when explaining what our exam was like. He doesn't try to make the exams fair, he wants to ensure that you can only do well on the exam if you do extensive outside of class practice problems. Exams are most of the grade, yet nothing in the course really prepares you for them.

Sonny does a great job breaking down jargon into simple terms and is fantastic at explaining how to apply concepts. Discussion attendance is mandatory, and you should make sure to go because it is a free 5% of your grade.

Amazing professor who jumps straight to the important parts of lecture material. He makes lectures very engaging as well.

Sonny is a great professor. I recommend him to anyone who needs to take EMA courses.

Sonny has the best lectures I've ever had at UW-Madison, however, the material is very difficult. Doing the homework and studying a lot for exams is a must. If I didn't have Sonny for this course it would've been way harder.

This class was really hard but he is a good lecturer. There were lectures that were very dense with information but he would then give a recap at the start of the next lecture. Show up to lecture and do the homework and you should be okay. He is also good about giving fair grades, whether that means changing the weight of an exam or giving a curve.

He was a great professor that seemed to understand how students learn. He cracked enough jokes to keep you engaged and his notes were very clear. Execellent professor. I would take a class with him again in a heart beat.

One of the best professors I've had. He explains concepts very clearly and thoroughly and jokes around with students. Dynamics is a tough class but he gives you the tools to succeed.

Tried to help students when he gave too difficult of an exam by re-weighting all the other exams to minimize that one and maximize the other. This put students in the middle range of all three exams in a difficult position, but he said it was to "motivate us" on the following exams. A bit arrogant of a professor. Found the TA more useful.

Easily the best professor I've had so far. The class is by no means easy, but the material is organized and delivered so well, it isn't that hard to understand the material He is a fair grader that cares about his students and is willing to give heavy curves. Sometimes the tests have screwball questions, but that just helps the curve am I right?

Overall a good professor, lectures are great for learning, I never looked at the textbook except around exam time. Exams are much more difficult than homework or discussions, but as with statics, partial points saves you on exams. Show up to lecture, take good notes, do the homework and you will do fine.

Hes a great lecturer and is pretty fair in his grading. The only problem is the exams were way harder than any other problems, whether from the book, homework, or practice exams. You could ace a 4 problem practice exam in less than an hour with no notes and still be way over your head come exam time. Overall super funny guy, made the class worth it

Exams were way tougher than material learned in lecture/homeworks. Practice materials were not sufficient enough to help with preparing for exams. Sonny made the lecture content easy to understand for homework, but did not provide enough material to cover problems shown on exams.

Sonny is a riot in class. Very accessible and laid back.

Great professor, just one major issue with this class. Nowhere in the syllabus did it say that every discussion (except for 2) missed will be a 1% deduction in your grade. So, I dropped 3% unexpectedly which kind of sucked. Just putting it here in case you make the mistake a bunch of us made! Anyways, easy class, just study and youll do well

Great Professor. Doesn't just follow book derivations but will work multiple problems in lecture and explain concepts in a clear and concise way. Tends to grade exams more leniently so he won't have to implement a curve.

Great person, the content however is really hard if it doesn't come to you easily. You can tell he is a great teacher however, the only thing I wish he had done was focus less on proofs and more on practicing to use equations in different situations. Ultimately, that is what you are going to be tested on. Beware of tough exams if the curve is high.

Sonny is a great professor and has very clear lectures. He has reasonable expectations for his students and always has a good grasp on how much his students have learned. His grading is very fair and he will curve grades when he needs to. On harder exams, he is a more generous grader. He understands that his students have lives outside of class!

Good professor, but his lectures and examples don't prepare you well for the actual homework, which is 5x harder than he makes it out to be. Class was pretty easy up until the second midterm, where the average was barely over an F (by .3%), and he still refused to curve the exam. Funny, nice guy, though.

Sonny's an awesome professor. He's really smart but you never feel stupid asking questions. He's also really funny. A phone went off in class one time (rather embarrassing ring tone) but he just laughed along with everybody else before saying "Classic" and continuing the lecture. It also helps that he records all the lectures if you miss class.

Sonny is a great guy and makes Dynamics bearable. Tests are tough, and he makes that clear on the first day of class. Content is very clearly communicated in lecture. Count on the easier quizzes and homework assignments to save your grade. All in all one of the better teachers I've had in engineering classes.

Very hard final, and everyone gets a decent curve. Not an easy class, but Professor Sonny is very helpful and ready to help you. Weekly quiz are fair, some are very easy and some need you to think through it.

Dr. Sonny understands the material very well, and wants to make sure his students do too. He is nice and happy to answer questions. You'll get more out of the lectures if you do the reading assignments first, but discussion was most helpful to my understanding. Tests are fair--you'll be fine if you understand well how to do the homework.

While the course material is very challenging, his lectures and teaching were excellent. All lectures were clear and organized, and introduced new learning points in a logical progression. Every lecture included worked out examples to help reinforce the material. He was also able to clearly answer any questions asked in lecture.

Great teacher that truly wants to help students understand concepts. On top of having a PHD, he is a baller as well. Loves to snowboard and talks to students about non-school related topics occasionally.

Sonny (Aaron) was by far the best EMA professor I've had going through the required 3 course sequence. He's smart, but he doesn't want to see you fail just because of that. Exams were reasonable, up until the final. Homework can be challenging but worth doing. Overall, if you have the chance take any EMA with him!

Made Mechanics of Materials very understandable. Tests weren't too bad.

He's a funny guy. The content is pretty tough, but I went in to his office hours every week and that helped a lot. Doing the homework and understanding it helps, too. Also, the textbook is a big help
