This may be the best professor I've ever had at UW Madison. He is a great lecturer and really cares about the experience of the students. The class was interesting and fun and the tests were fair, I would definitely advise taking a class with Professor Pollak if you get the chance.

Prof. P was the best prof I've ever had! So passionate about the subject & really cares about his students-he'd actively ask for feedback on his teaching and work to apply it. Lectures were super interesting & had cute baby videos that were very helpful in exemplifying concepts. Textbook is dense, but manageable. Take honors section if you can!

Seth is amazing. He is extremely knowledgable about psychology (obviously) and he cares that his students do well. This class had 3 exams, no final, all multiple choice. If you went to lecture and read the textbook, the exams were extremely fair. He threw out bad questions on the exams, and gave EC for tophat lec questions.

Prof Pollak is a really famous psychologist and doesn't teach often. I suggest grabbing any chance to have any class with him. He is brilliant and an incredible lecturer. Not the least bit arrogant. In fact he was very compassionate and conveyed a lot of caring for students and was a super nice guy during office hours. 10/10 great teacher.

Seth Pollak is very knowledgeable and he is a really significant researcher in his field. This class will help you with interacting with any children in your life! This is one of the best classes and professors at UW-Madison! Take his class if you have the chance!

Professor Pollak is one of my favorite professors at UW-Madison! He focuses on the big picture of his lectures and is very knowledgeable. His exams were very fair and he really wants all of his students to succeed.

Professor Pollak is amazing! He is so nice and really genuinely cares about his students learning and he is so approachable. Professor Pollak is one of the best professors at UW-Madison! And he doesn't teach classes that often so if you have the chance to take a class with him, take it! I highly recommend anything that he teaches!

Loved this class and Professor Pollak is awesome in every way. But be aware that the exams are really hard. Keep up with the reading and don't miss lecture and study a lot. But this class is worth the effort.

Professor Pollak is extremely knowledgable about what he is teaching and his passion shows through. The lectures were interesting and he shows many videos that help supplement the class. The tests are based on concepts and were pretty hard and the only thing in the grade book so make sure you study and do the assigned readings.

Seth is an incredible professor. He is passionate about what he is teaching and makes every topic incredibly interesting, and he was genuinely interested in students and seemed to truly want all of us to succeed and learn. He learned the names of 200+ people in lecture and called on us by name, and was incredibly fair in grading. HIGHLY recommended

Agree w others, Seth is awesome. Another cool thing is he shared his thinking with us. Explained grading curves and let us choose, explained how he wrote lectures to achieve teaching goals, shared teaching evals with us and explained why he did things the way he did, showed us stats on his test questions and explained how questions worked. He rocks

Professor has clear, straightforward lectures. Tests are concept based for the most part. Lots of videos to explain things. Some guest lecturers. Do the readings. Class very fairly graded and professor is a really fun, nice guy. Really knows his stuff. Would take the class again.

Professor Pollak is one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares for his students, and even acknowledges the fact that professors can write bad questions, and takes them off the exam. He's very caring and really tries to learn everyone's name. He even calls us by name during lecture. I very much recommend any of his classes.

Prof. Pollak is one of the best I've had so far, and truly cares about his students! Not only is the content super interesting, but he keeps students engaged during lectures with funny stories and cute videos that relate to the course content. Only graded on 3 exams which are challenging but doable. Go to lecture, do your reading, all worth it.

Not only the best psych class, but one of the best I have taken in 4 years. Three fair midterm exams and he gives opportunities for extra credit. A lot of reading but lectures highlight main points. He is organized, tells hilarious stories about his kids, very considerate of students. Dude really understands how to teach. UW should clone him.

Best professor I have EVER had on this campus. I always looked forward to the lectures and will miss this class. He makes every topic SO interesting and is good about making the big philosophical issues clear. Masterful storyteller. Shows a lot of caring and respect for his students. A lot of required textbook reading, but grading is very fair.

His lectures are amazing! He is very straight forward with what to expect from the class and its difficulty. Exams were very challenging but fair. I liked that it wasn't simply memorizing small details but focused on main concept mastery. The course is useful for anyone from any major. Everyone should take it. 10/10 great professor and great class!

Exams are tough. But I loved this class- probably the best I have ever taken. I bombed the first exam because Pollak goes for big conceptual issues not details. I improved a lot on the next exam and he actually sent me a personal note to congratulate me. He cares about students and wants people to learn. Class is difficult but worth it.

Loved this class. Each of Professor Pollak's lectures is like a TED talk. Amazing lectures. He tells these funny stories that actually helped me understand the material. I didn't know until later in the semester that he is actually really famous big deal guy. He learned the names of people in a 200 person class. I'd take anything he teaches,

This class is fair and prof Pollak is great! He is not only passionate about the topic, but also about learning. He wants everyone to do as well as they can and genuinely learn the material. He does everything he can to help students, but you still need to put the work in. Study hard and do the reading and you'll do great!

Seth is great! He frequently asks what he can do to make the class better for everyone, and follows up on requests. He always tells jokes and adds videos of cute babies to make the lecture interesting. The class is only graded on the 3 midterm exams. I would definitely take a class with him again!

He is a great professor that really cares about his students and communicating material as effectively as possible. Tests are more about big concepts rather than little facts and he gets those across well. His lectures are interesting and enjoyable, and he is overall a great person that shows videos and tells a lot of stories. Would recommend!

In my class, we were graded on two papers and participation. And you really do need to participate. Every single lecture. Not participating could hurt your grade. He taught with his wife and I liked her better. She seems..nicer and easier to talk to.

Seth is a wonderful professor...take him if you can!
