ECE 252 has a flipped class format, so most of the teaching is done through videos. Lectures aren't very useful (*professors for the course alternate lecture days) but the class format is good for me personally. Setareh is kind and clearly cares, though definitely isn't probably isnt the most lenient (though she is reasonable). No major complaints.

The TA and the professor are both very nice and helpful.

I think Setareh is a nice professor who really wanted people to succeed. She is to a certain extent, strict. That being said, most of ECE was a flipped classroom, so I didn't learn a lot from Setareh herself. At the end of the day, getting help from the TAs and going to office hours is the best way to succeed in this course.

SO kind and caring, very helpful during class time. Less so outside of class— would recommend using Piazza or asking a TA over attending office hours. Lectures were clear and organized, and prof took time out of her day to ask how students were doing even in such a large classroom.

Setareh is a good professor and knows the material. She is a good lecturer and is very helpful in class. However, she is very hard to reach outside of class and is almost not worth attempting. The bulk of her grading is not done by her and often responds to grading questions with non-answers. Overall, good professor but not always the most helpful.

Setareh is VERY difficult to deal with over email. I've taken two of her classes, and it's been the same for both. Her average response time is 5 days, which is especially annoying during finals. She is also not flexible with making up assignments, in cases that every professor I've taken have been flexible. I hope she sees this and does better.

Professor Setareh is very well versed in the field and has a deep understanding of the concepts she teaches. Her explanations during office hours are also really good, and her discussions are very helpful. Would recommend as a professor.

The class is taught in a flipped classroom, so if that's your jam this will work well for you. If you pay attention, this class is genuinely easy. She gives good lectures, and there is usually office hours every day of the week (save for some weekends). Would highly recommend.

The class becomes much easier when you actively collaborate with your group and attend the discussion sessions.

Don't take seterahs class if you are not willing to put in the work. All the homework assignments in this class are challenging and time consuming. She is very helpful during her discussion sessions. So I would recommend to go to discussion as much as possible. During discussion she does examples and more complex version of the homework. 10/10!

I'm writing this after Professor Behroozi showed her Rate My Professors page in class. One of the best professors I've had here at UW-Madison! Knows mine and other students' names and genuinely cares about student success. Hands out candy in discussion!

Very good professor, you can definitely find her in the after class time and she provides so many resources to let you succeed in this course. As long as you watch the recorded lectures, get good notes, and do all the exercises/homework, you can definitely get an A easily.

W professor

Took awhile to get back to me when I was sick which seriously delayed the project she assigned me. Also very fussy about online submissions. Difficult to work with.

Totally impossible to finish the tests!!! The first assessment is superly easy, but the second and third one have huge workload and little time: the second assessment have 35 problems within 55 minutes, and the third one has 27 problems (including 3 coding and nearly a hundred subproblems) within 55 minutes! It is totally IMPOSSIBLE!

Setareh is an extremely caring professor who goes above and beyond to make sure that her student's succeed. 552 is a hard course that made my brain hurt more than once, but she was there to help us through it. I am fairly confident that there would have been a lot more tears if not for Setareh!!! If you are reading this UW, give her a raise :)

Caring, patient and passionate. Always available even beyond office hours. Coming as an exchange from a Global T10-ish, this course is hard (extremely hard for an CS Undergrad like me), but Setareh and TAs will go the extra mile to break difficult concepts down. She will always check if you're feeling okay and listen to issues beyond the course!

Although ECE552 is an intensive and difficult class, Setareh makes it interesting and fun! She cares about her students and is always willing to stay after class to explain challenging concepts. She seems to know each students names which I find incredibly impressive, and she always checks to see if students understand topics. Great professor!!

Professor Setareh is amazing. She grades fairly, and though her classes are tough they are interesting. She cares about her students and is extremely approachable. She makes sure to really reiterate that no question is a bad question. Many professors say it, but she actually believes it and practices it.

Goatareh

The class is set up as a flipped format, so the professor isn't really important. But there's a optional lecture time that I really liked. Setareh runs it and she's great at breaking down what we covered the previous week. Plus, she sometimes brings candy, which is a sweet bonus.

If you take 252 with Setareh, know that she is literally never available outside of class and office hours. I have experienced and heard from others of trying to contact her via email (which is where she directed us for personal matters) and did not respond because she "saw your email but forgot to respond." And beware, this is a flipped classroom.

Honestly professors don't matter much for 252 because of the reverse classroom instruction style. That being said, she is definitely a caring professor and she explains everything well.

Professor Behroozi relies on old videos for students to understand and TAs explain better than what she teaches. While a highly intellectual professor, her teachings aren't properly communicated to students. And she's either lax or lethargic in opening the practice exercises.

Terrible professor, can barely understand what she says and talks in a demeaning and condescending tone

Dr. Behroozi is a phenomenal professor for ECE 252. She is caring and is very knowledgable in the field. Although there are not direct lectures, as they are taught through online videos (ECE dept. structure), she is great at teaching during weekly discussions, which are more of a traditional lecture style. If you ever need help, GO TO OFFICE HOURS.

This professor is not very helpful when students don't understand a concept quickly. She is not inviting to others if they need help and acts unprofessional when students do something wrong. I have personally reached out to her about issues with an exam but she did not act as though they existed and there could be no wrong with it.

She is a very hard grader, with her test questions being very confusing. She doesn't teach and isn't helpful when you are confused and are looking for help. She also seems to dislike students who do not immediately understand content, and isn't helpful at explaining confusing ideas with TA's being awful and most of the time giving incorrect help.

like her style of teaching, a very nice prof with the heart to help you go through all the difficult materials. DEFINITELY take her class! she is really helpful and are always willing to help you go through the assessment and homework.

I had Dr. Behroozi in her first semester teaching here. While I didn't like the format of this class (lectures as homework and homework done in class) that's an ECE252 problem not Dr. Behroozi's problem. She is VERY knowledgeable about computer engineering and is great at explaining questions if you ask. She is super helpful you if you seek help!

We learn content by watching videos and there's no lecture other than a weekly discussion in which we review a week's worth of content. I'd feel like Professor Behroozi is trying her best, but I'd rather have proper lectures a few times a week instead of watching videos. (we also do 2 quizzes every week, which can be a bit stressful at times).

Best instructor for ECE 252. She is caring and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. She is amazing at office hours and very co operative.
