Great professor, and I genuinely enjoyed his lectures. 5 writing assignments, but they are super easy, and the only reason I didn't get an A in this class was because I got a late penalty on an essay. There are in-class short writing assignments, so attend lectures. NO midterms and NO final. He is very engaging and explains things really well.

Imagine a professor who avoids grading his assignments until the last day of given instruction, does not respond to emails, and gives false information when talking about assignments directly. I think Dr. Heinz should keeping doing research, I don't doubt his skills, but he should certainly not be teaching. His performance his disappointing.

This class is pretty interesting and Professor Heinz is a good lecturer. You really have to go to class because he posts half of his lecture slides and the other half aren't on canvas. Also he shows a lot of videos and animations that are really helpful in class that aren't accessible outside. I recommend him, he's great.

He is interesting and enthused but his lectures do not prepare student well for the exams.

Interesting intro course, instructor's lectures were very well prepared. Homework was incredibly easy, mostly used high-school-level physics equations that you plug-and-chug. Don't take this if you're a slimy liberal arts student whose idea of "hard math" is multiplication...

I wish I never bought the textbook. He later on told us there was an online version...He posts notes online, but gives demonstrations in class sometimes. Obviously passionate about the subject, but was more physics based. Homework was extremely difficult and useless, along with going to discussion sections.

Very difficult course. Instructor is very animated and helpful, but it is far too difficult for an introductory course. Extremely physics-based. Be in for a rude awakening.

This professor is really nice, and he is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his topic. However, this course is too difficult for an intro level course. It heavily physics-based, and the homework (assigned every other week) does not help to prepare one for the exams. If you're not very interested in the class, this could be a turn-off.

Class was hard...he makes class easy to listen to but test are difficult, I never got above a BC on an exam (they are multiple choice)...also there is homework almost every week which is EXTREMELY hard!! And is harder than what is used on the test. There is also a final project. No need to go to class he post the slides online...not an easy class.

Awesome professor. Makes things really really interesting.

Really interested in his field and was always really fun to watch when he teaches. Occasionally he gets so excited that is seems that he forgets it is an intro level class, but that is not usually a problem because he is really open to questions. As someone who is not interested in science at all I would recommend this class, really interesting!
