Professor Palecek is easily one of my favorite professors here at UW. Although the course is extremely homework-heavy (sometimes taking up an entire day to do) his lectures were entertaining and enjoyable, his exams were engaging and very well written, and he cares a lot about his students. Additionally, he was very available outside of class.

Palecek is one of my favorite professors at UW. His lectures, homework, and exams were tough but always reasonable and helpful. He was always available & willing to help in and out of class. He was also super flexible with the challenges of a COVID semester & online learning. I highly recommend taking Palecek if you have the chance.

Palecek is a great professor who is really passionate about teaching and ChemE. He mostly demonstrates concepts through examples and it's really helpful to go through those problems again to study for exams. The homework for this class is INTENSE and time-consuming but you learn a lot from it if you take the time to understand the concepts.

Truly a great and fair professor. Although the homework is long, tedious and much harder than what you will see on the exam, it really makes the concepts stick. Office hours and discussion times are extremely useful to work out homework problems and further understand topics you are stuck on. Amazing professor, highly recommend his class

Very great professor. Straightforward, helpful, and clear about expectations, exams can be tricky but it's chemcial engineering, it's to be expected. Would recommend.

Prof Palecek knows the material very well, but this semester the university used a different method of online lectures that were not helpful at all. His examples on the board were helpful, but the problems in the exam did not compare. Exams were hard and long. He could be a little more enthusiastic at times. Not to mention a pop quiz.

This guy is complete scum. Willing to give a pop-quiz on the class before a midterm that covered material on the NEXT midterm.

Good Professor. Knows what he's doing. Does lots of examples instead of reading right out of the book.

The class isn't the most exciting, and with that said it's tough to make a lecture very exciting. There wasn't all that much enthusiasm during lecture but he did explain the information well and do plenty of examples. He was also helpful if you needed to talk to him outside of class. Overall good professor though.
