Best conductor I have ever had the privilege to play under. Professor Teeple is one of the most musically knowledgeable people out there. He knows how to bring the best sound out of an ensemble, and the pieces he chooses for us to play are always exceptional. You will not be disappointed.
Professor Teeple is such an inspiring and thoughtful conductor. He is able to give each section thoughtful feedback and works with the ensemble exceptionally. He keeps the level of music accountable, while still making the class atmosphere receptive, encouraging, boyant, and down right fun.
Teeple is one of the best conductors I've had. My favorite part is that he has massive respect for his students. He always works with us, not on top of us. He asks for our musical input, and trusts that we'll put in the work. He always has the business and housekeeping stuff taken care of before class so that we can just focus on making music.
Been playing music for about 13 years now and he is honestly one of the best conductors I've ever had. 10/10 would take concert band again. He chooses hard music, but then again it is a college level band so that is to be expected.
Although it may not feel like it at first, especially for non-music majors, but being part of a music ensemble means being part of a family. Scott Teeple does an excellent job of making sure every one of his students knows they're cared for the by the UW music community, even if they're not majoring in music.
Without a doubt the best conductor I have ever had. He is extremely intelligent, and knows exactly how to foster exploration of timbre and intonation across the ensemble. He expects the best out every every member and leads very intense, yet extremely enjoyable rehearsals, making each one very fulfilling. The rep is also fantastic.
Professor Teeple is truly an amazing teacher. His passion for teaching and music is demonstrated everyday inside and outside of rehearsals. He cares greatly about his students and insists on excellence. He is a pioneer of silent rehearsals, which fosters critical listening skills. I would not be the musician I am today, without Professor Teeple.
Rarely did he actually conduct. Rather he just stands to the side and watches us fail to start and then yell at us as if it is our fault. His music choice is very poor and his very little use of dynamics or corrections of wrong notes adds to an awful concert. Of course, you cannot avoid him, but he has no musical ear whatsoever.
The best conductor a university can ask for! Musically intelligent with a big warm heart!
Brilliant!
