Scott Hartman makes every lecture genuinely enjoyable to where you forget you're in a lecture. My class was small, so it felt more like a conversation among friends. Take. His. Class.

This is my second class with Dr. Hartman and he is just as amazing as I remember. Truthfully, this class is HARD and requires a lot of work in and outside of class (especially lab), but Scott will do everything he can to help you along the way. Genuinely the most passionate, hilarious, and inspiring instructor I've had, TAKE HIS COURSES!!

super funny and passionate

The most passionate professor that I have had in my seven semesters here. Cares a lot about the course content. He is also hilarious and just an awesome dude.

Awesome teacher! I took bio of Dinos as a natural science req, but am not good at bio. He was super helpful and patient, as well as a blast to learn from. Super funny and super passionate about the class. Definitely not the easiest if you aren't a science person, but his excellent teaching style makes it worth the extra effort.

One of the most down to earth professors I've had. I was struggling with health complications, and he was very open to share missed lectures online and was very positive throughout the semester.

Dr. Hartman is great! I've also taken Biology of Dinosaurs with him.

Amazing professor, makes lectures actually enjoyable. Lots of content and moves very fast, takes lots of studying for the dino class but worth it!

I absolutely loved this course (Biology of Dinosaurs). Dr. Hatman is a very enthusiastic and engaging lecturer but also has a super deep knowledge base anytime you want more background info or ask a question. A few writing assignments graded quite leniently; exams are all MC and have high averages. Overall, couldn't recommend the class enough!

Hartman is an incredible person and professor. The class was extremely interesting and his hilarious lectures contributed to the enjoyment of both the material and attending class. Exam heavy, but as long as you look at the study guide you will score well, and easy online quizzes every weekend that provide quick points. Take this class!

I TOOK ZOO400: BIOLOGY OF THE DINOSAURS(there was no option). This class was the coolest class I've ever taken it was so interesting and I learned so much about ecology/organisms as a whole even aside from dinosaurs. 100% recommend if you're thinking about it. The exams are worth a lot and you'll only do good if you study. TON OF CONTENT just study

One of the best summer courses I've had. Lectures are prerecorded & slides posted. Grade is based mostly on module quizzes and discussions. The rest was from a term paper, which you could choose to get feedback for and improve on before the final submission. Easy course as long as you complete everything.

Professor Hartman is overall a great professor for Anatomy/Physiology/Biology topics. He posts slides of all his lectures online with very detailed notes explaining what you need to know. He's also very approachable and his lectures aren't boring. He wants you to succeed and understand the content. 10/10 would recommend to all types of majors.

Scott is a chill TA. He's finishing up his PhD and really knows his stuff. He articulates his lectures well, but be prepared for dad jokes. Lectures get posted online, but it's better to be in class. Tests are always MC. I never studied but did well enough.

While lecture is not mandatory I found it to be more beneficial and I did better when I went. Also, attendance is not mandatory in lab but it is very beneficial to go. There were also many times when I had to go in after lab to complete dissections. It is also nice to be there when there are people to answer your questions

Scott is a great professor! While attendance isn't taken, he does in class writings that are due before the lecture slides are posted with the prompt on them so you have to go to get those points. The exams are all MC and are only from lecture. He's VERY knowledgeable in a variety of topics, though sometimes can go off on tangents. 10/10
