She is great! Really good at what she does and her feedback is really helpful too on essays! If you ever need help you can email her, set up a 1-on-1 and more. She is caring and integrates topics on latinidad, racism, colorism and more in her class. I loved it!

Saylin is amazing. She's so caring and made every effort to get to know students. I took her during a COVID semester and she was still one of my most personable professors. She really works to make course content relevant; all of the writing assignments revolved around current issues, and everything we did taught you about more than just grammar.

Saylin is one of the best Spanish professors I have ever had. She is super kind, funny, and loves to get to know her students. She is a real gem and I am so lucky to have had her as a professor. I'm not majoring in Spanish, but I will definitely look for more classes taught by her in the future! If you do everything with effort, you'll get an A.

Saylin is great! She is funny, offers great feedback, and always works her hardest to ensure all our questions are answered. I would 100% take any class with her again because I truly enjoyed her as my professor.

She was kind but very harsh grader on essays. Very picky with grammar and whatnot so I wasn't the biggest fan. She's very kind, forgiving and generous. She's very nonjudgemental when it comes to learning Spanish.

I loved Saylin! she's so sweet and makes it really easy to get a good grade. participation is a big part of class, and I would definitely recommend doing the homework because she can call on people at random to answer questions. grades are mostly based on a few essays, which are all reviewed by peers and Saylin.

Saylin was one of the most caring professors I've had at UW. I am always looking forward to her class because she brings up important and interesting topics dealing with the Hispanic/Latinx community all while teaching us Spanish. Her ensayos/compositions were fun and I felt touched by her end-of-semester slideshow. 10/10 recommend

Saylin is an AMAZING professor. I only wish I could have been in her class in-person rather than online. She has interesting content to watch every class and does not shy away from discussing current social issues in the US and Latin America.

Saylin is super nice and helpful and makes class fun. She's a bit of a tough grader but if you really check your work it'll be fine, pretty standard for Spanish classes. She is very flexible and helpful and will try her best to help you succeed. Grades based on 6 short papers, homework, participation, and attendance.

Saylin is friendly, energetic and creates a really positive learning environment. This class was a very different experience for me because there were no exams. We were graded entirely on essays (1-3 pages depending on the assignment) that were peer reviewed and professor reviewed. If you put in the effort to check your work, you'll do great!

Love, love, love her. She makes a pretty general writing/reading class interesting and relevant. We read more contemporary stories and applied themes that were useful in real life. She is so understanding, helpful, and easy to talk to! If you can take Saylín please do it!!

Saylin is a great Spanish teacher. She really knows what she is talking about and gives really good feedback with the essays. The class has no quizzes or exams. Just 5 one page papers and 3 two page papers. It's a pretty easy class as she helps you with all your writing.

She is super nice and understanding. For natives and non-natives this class is great! You make good friends in the class, she is very flexible and will be very honest and trustworthy when it comes to grain. definitely recommend taking her class!

Very considerate of extenuating circumstances. Also very sweet.

Saylin is amazing! Your semester grade is based on 3- 2 page compositions (40%), 4-1 page essays (40%), participation (15%), and homework (5%). If you have any doubts on your paper, Saylin is always more than willing to help answer your questions. Spanish 311 with Saylin was easy and very fun! Highly recommended.

Saylin was one of the best Spanish teachers I have had. She is con condescending and is a fair grader. She is very approachable and clear. Take spanish 311!! It's not to hard and you get to watch some videos about interesting things. Similar to my high school AP Spanish language class.

Saylin is the best professor I have had at this school. She is always extremely helpful and understanding... If you have a chance to take any class with her... do it! I enjoyed going to class. She is absolutely delightful.

There is nothing negative I can say about Saylin. Take her. She's wonderful. She is unbelievably inspirational and truly cares about what she is teaching. I wish she could teach every single one of my spanish classes. She's funny and nice and makes grammar awesome. She's the best professor I have ever, and probably will ever, have.

If you want to take Spanish 311, you cannot go wrong with taking it with Saylin. She is so sweet and funny! Plus, to make otherwise boring grammar stuff more interesting, she throws in videos about social issues today that she uses during class. Also, she is extremely helpful and approachable. Great class.

Saylin is amazing! She is the most helpful spanish teacher I have had! I was very nervous to take this class, but she made me love it! Definitely take her for any spanish class if you can!

She's probably the best Spanish teacher I've ever had. She made Spanish fun and taught us about global events and trends while we learned Spanish. I'm going to miss her in later semesters!

Saylin is the absolute best spanish instructor I have had here! She is the most kind and helpful woman that I have ever met. She makes boring grammar more interesting by incorporating current events and interesting world topics. Take her if you get the chance she is amazing!
