I absolutely love Dr. Wood, she's very knowledgeable and passionate about the texts she's assigning and about her students. She does sometimes encourage an echo chamber but she facilitates interesting and insightful class discussions that help with understanding the poems we read. Incredibly kind as a professor and in her grading, take her class!!!
Phenomenal professor and class! She completely changed how I view literature and nearly convinced me to become an English major. She's incredibly caring and wants to see her students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. I couldn't recommend her enough.
Dr. Wood was INCREDIBLE!!! I learned so much, she's so kind and truly cares about students' holistic success; this was my favorite class I have ever taken I'm so thankful for her. She really helped me look at literature in a new way and I was pushed to think more critically in the best way possible.
Dr. Wood is amazing and I can't recommend her highly enough. I took her Climate Crisis Literature class and she is an amazing person and professor. There is a lot of assigned reading but it's all very engaging- just make sure you make the time for it! Dr. Wood provides good feedback, but not grades until the end of the semester.
I would not recommend taking a class with this professor. Unclear grading process based on "complete" or "incomplete" and would simply give you a grade at the end of the class based on her opinion. Also many favorites in class who she would provide support for more throughout the assignments. Smart writer, but didn't enjoy her teaching process.
I would not take a class with this professor again because her grading criteria are unclear. She DOES NOT TELL YOU YOUR GRADE UNTIL AFTER THE END OF THE SEMESTER. She will not tell you your grade or where you stand in the class. When she gives you your papers back, there will not be a grade on them. She is nice.
Professor Wood is so passionate about her work and really wants you to be excited about what you're reading as well. I took her Modernist Novels course to fill a credit spot but I ended up really enjoying and looking forward to her class. She has a different way of grading that is based on improvement rather than just busy work constantly. Love her
Dr. Wood is incredibly passionate about her work and has some amazing lectures. She really makes you work for your grade and has particularities of what she wants to see from her students, but when you work hard and talk with her, it's easy enough to figure it out and be successful. She also has some great non-class related content.
