Students are expected to watch the lectures before class. During class time, he just asks questions based on the lecture and students answer him. He will not lecture unless you ask him to clarify something. Furthermore, participation is graded so many students end up asking very off topic questions to earn points, making things unproductive.Rate My Professors ↗
Sriram is one of the nicest professors I've ever had, he really cares about his students. There are lots of buffer points and exams were open note. He also doesn't get annoyed or flustered with questions in the chat, like some of my other teachers. His grading policy is very fair and he does his best to make sure that your grade is not solely based on exam scores. His exams are thorough in making sure you understand content but not impossibly hard if you study and work hard in class. Dr. B is great. Very fair grader on exams & hw. Class is a little atypical - first watch pre class lectures at home online(20mins-1 hr, depends on unit), then go to class and talk over topics from the pre class lecture. 4 exams (drop 1), open note quizzes w/ 3 attempts, few asgmts, and easy opportunity for 5% EC. Dr. Boothalingam is passionate about the material he teaches, but also tries his best to help his students understand it. He makes lectures super interactive, giving out extra credit participation points and candy! There is a lot of pre-class work... be sure to do it!
