Shannon is a great professor. I had her freshmen year in an intro to philosophy class. The were a lot of reading, but you could get by in debate without doing them. They were more for if you wanted to understand the material at a deeper level, but you could get by without them.

Shannon genuinely cares about all her students. Easy to participate. The reading was pretty heavy but most times you could get away not reading and still being able to participate on debate during class.
