Shaleen covers material in a logical and effective manner; they are a solid pick for this course. The course is challenging, but that is to be expected of the material. Pick teammates carefully, take good notes, and ask for clarification in lecture if you need it. Shaleen genuinely cares about your learning! I don't know if he's going to continue to teach, but I think he was a great professor! He is willing to help and answer questions. B+ tree project is horrible -- start very early and go to office hours. Second half of the course seems much easier. We had SQL in the second half and C++ in first half.Rate My Professors ↗
Shaleen is really understanding when it comes to student input about deadlines etc. The format of the class with C++ at the start and SQL in the end was great. The first half of the class is definitely stressful but second half seems better! Group projects suck if your group is bad! Attend review sessions for exams and you'll be fine.Rate My Professors ↗
